After 7 years in the Real Estate business, I have attended hundreds of home inspections. Good, bad and ugly, they all have a lot of things in common.
When I go to these home inspections, rather then sipping a latte and reading a magazine, I actually pay attention. Since I grew up with 2 older brothers, my Dad didn't spend as much time with me teaching me about electrical, plumbing and household repairs and construction. Dad was an electrician and a definite handy-man, but his wisdom was passed to my brothers rather than me. Was it a lack of interest on my part? Maybe. But whatever it was, I have definitely been interested for the last 7 years.
